Alex's Skymaster F-16 "ARF Plus" airframe was slowly transformed within 4 weeks...

Original paintwork was the Tigermeet scheme which soon fell out with Alex, so i was tasked by Alex to re-paint it to the RSAF's Black Knights scheme, and he wants his to be Blacks Knights Number 2. Took a total of 4 weeks to finish. About 3~4 layers of paint was added onto it i.e. primer grey coat, white basecoat, red, black underneath and final glossy clearcoat. There is a slight increase in weight, but since this is the ARF Plus model, it is still very light, a Jetcat P70 turbine will be sitting in this baby. This Black Knights paint scheme is the easiest to spot in the air and nothing is more patriotic than to own one in this livery.

"Look Ma! I got a RSAF Black Knights Jet!" says Alex proudly... :)

First thing to be done was to spray a layer of grey primer to remove the tigermeet paint scheme. It's then wet-sanded and dried before shooting all corners with white.

Original Tigermeet paint scheme. Too gawdy for Alex! LOL!

The real Black Knights performing at the Singapore Airshow 2008.

and wet-sanded down again...

Beautiful Black Knights!

Real Black Knights doing a slow roll...

Covering the areas that's not suppose to be sprayed on...

More masking...toilet break...masking...tea-break...masking...ZZzzZ...masking...

Wings and stabs also masked up...

All maskings are removed...

Red was then sprayed...

With all colors sprayed and drying, time to do the fonts, decals and logos on autocad software.

Wings' and Stabs' underside have black stripes.

All dried nicely, time to lay down the fonts and logos...

Final glossy clearcoat sprayed, left to dry...

Black Knights No.2 finally ready to go back to Alex's hangar :) 30th May 2008
