Just a little about myself.

Started R/C flying in 2001 with the help of very good friends as well as being my Sifu's Lim Seng Hwee and Herbert Yeo, I am forever indebted to these 2 fine gentlemen who gave their time on weekends to coach me to fly and gave great plane-building tips. My first plane was the Thunder Tiger 25 High-wing Trainer, good flying characteristics and extremely frugal on fuel consumption. It is extremely important to get someone who have many years of flying experience to mentor you during the begining stage, that way, you will improve your flying skills quickly. I did my first solo take-off and landing flight in about 3 months and never looked back since. It has been a satisfying journey for me in this hobby, as years go by, the planes got bigger and bigger! Haha!

It was during 2004 i started to design and scratch-build my own planes, foam was and still is a fantastic material to make planes, easy to fabricate and glue and also extremely affordable. I've scratch-built 3 foamies thus far (F15, Cozy n Velociraptor) and all of them taught me a lot about construction techniques. Biggest thanks and complements to Steve Shumate (Jetset44 of Rcgroups forum), without his inspirations, i would not be able to come out with the Cozy and Velociraptor projects as both used a lot of his build and construction techniques.

Then i got into nitro twin engined planes, my "VQ" A-26 Invader was such an intoxicating twin to fly around, not a slow cow i tell you, it can outpace any single-engined plane! LOL! Eventually and reluctantly i had to sell it to fund for my 1st turbine F15 jet in 2005.

I have since moved on to save enough $$$, self paint it and installed my 2nd turbine-powered jet, an F/A-18F Super Hornet by SkyMasterJet. Standing 2.4 meters tall, this is a huge aircraft! She has since maiden'd on the 31st of May 2009.

I also started to learn to fly nitro helicopters from 2002 onwards, i have to give credit to my good friend and buddy Rajoo (Mechplas) for teaching me the ropes of heli building/flying/maintenance. Without his help i wouldn't have stepped into helis in the first place.

All in all, my former years of playing with airbrush helped me to create very scale-looking and weathered aircrafts now, and also learning how to shoot and edit videos really helped to bring out the lively flights of the aircrafts in the videos i created, and with music thrown in, what can i say? just pure SHIOKness and FUN!!! Aiyo this hobby is really so FUN! So many things to learn and do! One thing i always tell myself, "If you think you want to achieve something, set your heart to do it and never give up! My Motto - Learn! Absorb! Learn!" There's a chinese saying..."Huo Dao Lao Shue Dao Lao" it means as you age, never stop learning new things!  :)

Why i started painting for people.

Many experienced builders have shared with me that you will never get rich doing this, reason is because of the time involved in building and the dedication required to build properly, there are also many obstacles to overcome during the build, and running to different places to get the stuffs required.

I am doing this because i really enjoyed building and painting, period.

I started fixing plastic model planes when i was in secondary school, Tamiya, Hasegawa, Airfix... I managed to save almost a S$100 just to get a badger dual-action airbrush kit and boy that started me on the path of exploring painting! I got a free car tire with rims of course, that became my primary source of compressed air, i would go to any petrol station with this huge car tire strapped to the back of my motorcycle and pumped it to insane pressures that you don't even want to know! LOL!

So it became a natural extension to what i'm doing now, airbrushing and painting for my own r/c projects for a start and gradually painting for other r/c folks for a fee, just enough to cover my costs and some pocket money.

My F/A-18F Super Hornet turbine jet by SkyMasterJet. Took two years to save, self-painted and installed in 8 months and finally flew on 31st May 2009.

Scratch-building my own designed planes and Video-editing.

There is nothing more fulfilling then to design your own planes, source your own materials, scratch-build it and fly it successfully. The amount of satisfaction i got from doing this is just priceless. Please go to the other page to have a look at what i've scratch-built so far, there're still more planes which i'm thinking of building, it's still all in my head! LOL!

Video-Editing!......this is something i really like doing. Imagine going to the flying field and not capturing the moments where your pride and joy flies in the sky? It would be a waste isn't it? grab a videocam and go capture it on film, edit the video and upload them on rcuvideos or googlevideo and show it to your loved ones and friends! Now That Is COOL and FUN!!!Cool
